We’ve already covered What Can Be Recycled at the NEW Recycling Center. Now that we’ve identified the “what,” let’s discuss the “how.”

Days and Hours of Operation
This is the most significant adjustment users of the new recycling center must make. The new center will be open for limited hours on certain days and closed on major holidays (New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day).

The site will be open:

Tuesday            9 AM – 6 PM
Wednesday       1 PM – 7 PM
Thursday           9 AM – 6 PM
Saturday            9 AM – 3 PM

No material can be left at the recycling center when it is closed. The center will be under video surveillance 24 hours a day.

Recyclables Must Be Separated
To help control our costs and provide better feedstock to the recycling companies hauling away the material, users will need to separate corrugated cardboard and glass bottles and jars from the rest of the items we accept (see below). More information is available here.

Traffic Pattern / Where to Park / Where to Unload
The graphic below shows how users will need to enter, where to park and unload, and then where to exit the Recycling Center.

Please pay careful attention to the fact that traffic will move one way (from north to south) through the site. This will help ensure everyone’s safety.

These changes will take some time for everyone to get used to. We’ll be providing extra staffing at the center in the few weeks after we open to help users understand and navigate it. We will be patient with everyone who visits and ask that you do the same with us as we work out the inevitable hiccups.
